Whenever you go and buy a new car, what’s that one thing you notice right away? That thing that you love so much, but know it won’t last. Yep…that wonderful new car smell. You know exactly what I’m talking about. Everyone does. Now, take that concept and geekify it a bit. Think about opening up a brand new action figure that you just spent months hunting down and finally found tucked away behind the stuff nobody buys.
Take a big whiff. You smell that? Yeah, you do. That, my friends, is what we like to call THAT NEW TOY SMELL!
Oh, come on! We may be pretty nerdy, but you know exactly what we’re talking about. Don’t act like we’re the only ones who sniff our toys when we first open them up! It’s ok. We don’t judge here. You can admit it! That new toy smell is a fantastic sensation. It fills you with a sense of pride over your recently acquired hunk of plastic. And that is why THAT NEW TOY SMELL is the perfect name for our show!
We here at TNTS are all about helping remind you of the good feeling you get when you open up a brand new toy! We’re going to spend what little time we have in our busy lives to show you some awesome stuff from today, and especially from the past!
Each episode is split into 3 parts, with a new part airing each week. Week 4 will always be a break between episodes. Each week, you can expect an awesome new segment all about a great toy line, a specific action figure or play set, or even somebody’s entire collection! Plastic Treasures: To a lot of us, our toys can be considered our gold. Especially considering how hard it is to hunt some of them down! Plastic Treasures is all about reminding you of great toys and play sets that we may, or may not, have treasured.
It Came From A Movie License!: Have you ever heard of that awesome internet show called “From Pixels to Plastic?” You know, that one where that handsome guy talks about video game toys? Well, this is a similar concept. Only here, we’ll talk all about toys based off of movies and TV shows! Oh, and that handsome guy Pixel Dan is here, too. But so is Jason. He’s not as handsome.
The Retro Return: Everything from the past becomes cool again at some point. That’s even true for toys, as many toy lines have had more than one “day in the sun.” The Retro Return will take a look at these toy lines, offering side by side comparisons and a lot of awesome!
Collector’s Collections: This is where we hunt people down, and we make them show us how they display their toys! Nerds! Oh, and you’ll also get a look now and again at both Devall’s and Dan’s collections. Super Nerds!
Bargain Toy Basement: You ever walk into a dollar store and find a toy that’s so awful it’s simultaneously awesome! Well, that’s what this segment is all about! Our good friend DiRT is an expert in this field, so he’ll probably be your guide here. Just an FYI, we know DiRT is wearing a mask, and no, we don’t know why.
